Learn. Grow. Give Back.
Stepping on the mat for the first time can be a little scary. Not knowing what to expect, what to do or the fear that you will not be good at it .
The great thing is that you’re not supposed to be good at it, you are just supposed to take that first step. And it is a big step that has gotten you onto the mat, you only have one thing to do, Learn. It up to the instructor and of those that came before you to help you up, show you what to do and what not to do. To give you a supportive and encouraging learning environment where you’ll improve and grow as a person and an athlete.
As you learn you will grow from your experiences, not being so cumbersome and awkward to being able to put movements and techniques together, being able to roll in full on matches. As you progress you will be challenged in ways you did not expect from the physical to mental and when you overcome these obstacles your confidence and skill will grow with you.
As students improve and progress on their journey they will inevitably want to help others as they themselves were helped.
Strong and confident people are not afraid to help others and in sharing and teaching their fellow athletes, they themselves will continue learn and mature in their practice.
